Welcome to the world of Infrared

Cameron Preece

With both parents being musicians, Cameron has always been into music. He first got into playing when learning the piano at the age of seven. When he got older Cameron furthered his interest in secondary school, by starting having trumpet lessons. This enabled him to join the East Sussex music service having the opportunity of playing in different brass and concert bands. He continues to play trumpet at grade 6 standard and has both a GCSE and A Level in Music.

Cameron was driven to teach himself guitar with the help of his friends, gaining much noticeable knowledge throughout his years at Uplands Community College. Performing in many school concerts with friends under the band name NEWC. With the formation of INFRARED in the near future Cameron took up bass guitar and has risen to but enjoyed the challenge over the last year.

Beginning his journey by using Lachlan’s Vintage bass and amp, Cameron now uses his own Ibanez SR370E-AWB bass guitar and a Fender Rumble 100 bass amp which has been used at venues such as the Forum, Grey Lady and Pizza Express in Maidstone, and especially when headlining Trinity Theatre in November 2018.
